VITAL / PROTOCOL
PHASE 1 / SPECIMENS · LIVE

Onchain biology
for the diseases
medicine forgot.

Vital turns real AlphaFold protein structures into onchain collectible specimens — and turns those specimens into permissionless funding for neglected tropical diseases. Mint to govern. Burn to fund.

// THE PROBLEM

Pharmaceutical research is not allocated by disease burden.
It is allocated by market size.

A disease that kills two million people a year in low-income regions will attract a fraction of the funding of one that mildly inconveniences a million people in high-income markets.

The result is a category of illnesses the industry has effectively abandoned: tropical, neglected, regionally concentrated, with patient populations too poor to justify a corporate research budget.

Vital exists to put a permissionless, onchain funding rail underneath those diseases.

// FOUR ONCHAIN STEPS

Mint a specimen.
Hold to govern.
Burn to fund.

01
Roll

A protein is drawn from the curated AlphaFold pool. The contract verifies it has not been minted and commits the roll.

02
Confirm

The protein is matched against the disease registry. Disease, country distribution, and pLDDT confidence are labeled onchain.

03
Mint

Pay the protocol fee. The SVG is generated and stored on-chain. Tier is assigned by pLDDT. Specimen enters your wallet.

04
Act

Hold for governance weight. Or burn to permanently redirect capital toward research on the disease your specimen represents.

// TIERS

Rarity is confidence,
not aesthetics.

Specimen tier reflects the actual pLDDT score — the AlphaFold model's structural certainty. Assigned at mint, immutable forever.

WEIGHT
DESCRIPTION
Core
90 – 100
14×
Highest scientific confidence. The protein is well-mapped.
Carrier
70 – 89
10×
Strong confidence. The working majority of structures.
Fragment
20 – 69
Disordered / low-confidence regions. Most of biology is still uncertain.
